Why I do what I do

This is me... optimistic, always seeing the glass half-full, tending to always have a million things happening at once (I have been working on s l o w i n g down generally in life!), having times of feeling overwhelmed and anxious about all the million things happening at once, and to top it all off, a mother of three young kids trying to juggle it all and not always succeeding!

In saying all of that, amidst all of the crazy, I have purpose and a drive to truly care for and HELP people.

I have always had an interest in health. From when I was a child and continuing throughout my schooling, I was very into athletics. I was a sprinter and the 100m was my race. I remember when the 2000 Olympics were on, I heard someone say that Cathy Freeman didn't eat butter. So, clearly, I had to stop too. For the next few years to follow, I didn't eat it at all. Luckily, I realised how good and yummy butter is so I picked it back up later!

When I became a mum and it came to the time of feeding my son solids, I felt like I had been handed a gift. It was MY responsibility to teach my child about healthy eating and it was up to me to decide what foods I was going to nourish his body with. What a responsibility! I started experimenting with sugar free cooking, and definitely had my fair share of fails (his 1st birthday cake was one of them!). However, all of this led to me continuing my love and passion for all things health.

I began my studies the following year and was nervous to say the least. I had began a few courses in the years preceding and had dropped out as I didn't feel passionate about what I was studying. However, when I commenced my Nutrition studies, something clicked. No longer was 'just wanting a qualification' my driving force, I felt this deep passion and motivation inside that kept me going, even through two more pregnancies and newborns and all that that entails!

People matter. I believe when you find what you are passionate about, the powerful driving force will lead you to discover what really matters. To me, that is caring for and helping people discover what health looks like to them and empowering them to know that their future is bright. We all have limited time on this earth and what we do with it is up to us. Let me encourage you that whatever is holding you back from pursuing your dreams and aspirations, you can get there! Living life in full health and without anything holding you back does have its challenges and is not always the easiest path to navigate, however, taking the path less traveled is a brave choice.

Knowing that you hold the power to nourishing your body from the inside out is rather exciting! Not having to tie yourself down to diets, fads or impossible eating regimes is releasing and empowering. It really is simple - eat what is right for you. Your body is telling you what you need to know. We all know deep down what foods make us feel good and which don't agree with us as much. It's all about listening to those signals and following them.

To be honest with you all, I am super excited to be starting this new business venture and am open to all that it entails. I look forward to helping you feel better... feel right for YOU and your body. Let's aim for a place where we are energised, empowered and ready to get the most out of this life.
